NEW YORK CITY INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL GENERAL RULES 2020
GENERAL RULES:
FILMS ALREADY IN ANY VOD platform or For Sale, On Amazon or any other company, location, etc. WON’T BE ACCEPTED


1. New York City International Film Festival defines a short film as any film with a running time less than 40 minutes.


2. New York City International Film Festival defines a feature film as any film with a running time greater then 40 minutes up.


3. Films must have been completed in the current or previous year (2018 / 19 /20




4. The applicant holds the sole responsibility of copyright clearance of any copyrighted material in the film. Films including unauthorized copyrighted material are ineligible.


5. Films not in English must be subtitled in English unless dialogue is minimal and not necessary for the comprehension of the Film
6. Accepted films must be in Blu-Ray or DCP or MP4 Files

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

1. Films CAN BE RETURN IF FILMMAKER SEND US A PRE-PAID FEDEX OR ANY OTHER CARRIER THEY WISH TO USE.




2. NYCIFF is under no obligation to provide comments regarding submitted films to any applicant. The festival is not responsible for any internal comments obtained by the applicant regarding their film.

Scripts must be written in English
GENERAL RULES FOR SCRIPT
Script Writers irrevocably grants New York City International Film Festival, -NYCIFF _ the right to use, for promotional purposes, a brief synopsis of the Script if it is selected as a finalist by the Festival.

Copyright:
It is the Writer sole responsibility to register material with the U.S. Copyright Office and/or with the Writers Guild of America (WGA) West or the appropriate agency in his/her country.
TERMS & CONDITIONS:
By clicking on Agree below, the undersigned Script Writer hereby irrevocably offers to NYCIFF Script Competition (“Festival”) the right to list the title, brief synopsis and writer's name for the script submitted herewith (“Script”) in the Festival Program Guide as determined best by the Festival in its sole discretion.
NYCIFF won’t ACCEPT:

  • SCRIPTS OF ANY EXISTING TV SERIES / TV SHOWS.
  • SCRIPTS ALREADY IN DEVELOPMENT
  • HAD MONEY INVESTED

ARE NOT ELIGIBLE.
If Festival selects the Script for the Festival; the Festival shall have the irrevocable right, but not the obligation, to announce the Script's Official Selection status at the 2020 NYCIFF Program Guide, at Festival’s sole discretion.

The undersigned individual or corporation submitting the Script (referred to as “Script Writer” herein) hereby warrants that it is authorized to commit the script for listing and to accept the terms of this Submission Agreement as Script Writer or Script Writer’s authorized representative; that it understands and accepts the terms of this Submission Agreement; and that all information it has provided on the submission form is accurate and may be used by Festival for promotional purposes.

The Festival reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to cancel any event due to storm, power outage, flood, war, civil unrest, fire, earthquake or any other circumstance deemed beyond the Festival's control. If an event is cancelled and the Festival is unable to re-schedule it, advance tickets are refunded. If the event can be re-scheduled, the Festival will offer replacement tickets to that event and, if the advance ticket holder is unable to attend at the new date and time, a refund of the face value of the ticket will be given.

Script Writer shall indemnify and hold New York City International Film Festival (NYCIFF) harmless from and against any and all claims, liabilities, losses, damages, and expenses (including but not limited to attorney's fees and costs of the court) which may be incurred by reason of any claim in connection with the Script involving copyright, trademark, credits, publicity, and/or loss of or damage to the script submitted. In particular, Filmmaker expressly warrants it has obtained all necessary copyright clearances for original works of authorship used in the Script.
