Important Notice : THE FILM HAS TO ARRIVE TO OUR OFFICE NO LATER THAN JUNE 8th GENERAL

The mission of the NEW YORK CITY INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL (NYCIFF) is to give a platform to new and experienced talented filmmakers to reach the best possible audience for their work.
Since submission of a film constitutes acceptance of these Entry Rules & Regulations (by filmmakers and their agents), please review this document carefully.

**ENTRY FEES ARE IN US DOLLARS, PER FILM AND NON-REFUNDABLE.

 

Feature Films ( Narrative & Documentary) from 45 up to 120 minutes
Shorts Films ( Narrative  & Documentary) up to 40 minutes

Filmmaker will be notified by email or phone approximately July 9th, 2012

 

* Important information:
This year we are introducing the NYCIFF Online Film Festival - Everybody from the US and around the World will be able to see our film selection and to vote – Will run from August 9 to 16, 2012

 

NON-ENGLISH LANGUAGE FILMS
Must have English subtitles

 

ENTRY MATERIALS

1) Entry form online along with payment

2) 1DVD of the film, formatted for Multi-zone or for Zone 0 (North America) labeled with the work’s Title, Running Time, Director(s) name(s) Please do not put adhesive labels on the disc unless it is a professional output job (if burned by yourself, use a permanent marker to write all the information on the disc).

MULTIPLE ENTRIES

A separate DVD must accompany by its own entry form and each entered work

 

IF YOUR WORK IS SELECTED

You must fulfill the following requirements by the date(s) designated by the Festival upon invitation:

(1) You will be required to execute a release and agreement wherein you (i) accept responsibility for obtaining any and all clearances necessary to exhibit your film at the New York City International Film Festival, warrant that you have the rights necessary to exhibit your film at New York City International Film Festival and NYCIFF Times Square Films, indemnify and hold harmless New York City International Film Festival, LLC at its affiliates against any claim arising out of exhibition of your film at New York City  International Film Festival. Films has to be at least New York Premiere.

 

(2) You will be responsible for delivery of the exhibition copy of the invited work in one of the Exhibition Formats specified below to the address designated by the Festival. The Festival will NOT cover the cost of the return shipping of your print or video after the conclusion of the Festival. We recommend shipment via courier in order to permit the tracking of your entry once it leaves your hands and our film festival.

 

We exhibit in 35mm, HDCAM, BLU-RAY – DVD, Digi-Beta

Films in competition will be required to provide a second exhibition copy to accommodate juror screenings.

 

The Festival has the right to request additional exhibition copies to allow for multiple screenings at more than one venue with no Marks or logos in the film or any sentence as: ” Only for Screening Purposes” or any other sentences in the film.

 

(3) You will provide a properly completed and signed official New York City International Film Festival  “Film Information Form” including all press and publication assets as specified in the “Materials Checklist”

 

(4) You will provide at least one DVD copy of the finalized and completed film for Festival archives.

 

(5) If your film was accepted to be shown in New York City International Film Festival 2012, you and/or your production company, distributor/s etc. won’t be allowed to withdraw the selected film from our film festival.

 

FESTIVAL SECTIONS:
Films invited to participate in the NEW YORK CITY INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL will be shown in the section that our Festival programmers determine will be most appropriate at their sole discretion. New York City International Film Festival ( NYCIFF )  has the right to  change the schedule of any screening if none tickets were sold prior to the show

 

MISSION & OBJECTIVE

NYCIFF, (New York City International Film Festival) purpose is to give a platform to new, existing, talented and emerging filmmakers from all over the world to have the opportunity to showcase their film in a New York City setting.

We want to encourage filmmakers from all over the world to participate in this event organized by New York City International Film Festival with the support of the City of New York.

 

Submit your film to One of the circuit’s most celebrated Film Festivals

This event will have many important guest and personalities from the USA and from around the world as well.

 

ABOUT THE FESTIVAL

Roberto Rizzo Founder & CEO of NYCIFF is proud to announce The Third Annual NEW YORK CITY INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL 2012 to be held August 9 -16, 2012

 

Our NY Film Market will run from August 10 to 12, 2012 at the Marriott Marquis Hotel, we will have the entire 9 floor – Exhibit area – Seminars were you can Pitch your film or project – Buy – Sell your film/s.

 

And The Third Annual NYCIFF TIMES SQUARE FILMS, Free Screenings to The Public, To Be Held August  11 – 13 & 14 , 2012

 

August 12 will be Children’s Day we will screen Animated films, and narrative shorts.

OPENING GALA

The Red Carpet Opening Gala, a Black Tie Event, August 9, 2012- 6pm to 11pm

 

AWARD NIGHT

The Closing Awards Night August 16, 2012 – 6pm to 11pm

During the Film Festival we will have:

 

1) “NYCIFF Film Market” to meet with Buyers, Distributors, Producers and Investors.

 

2) “The Producers Forum ” will run for 4 days, from 9am to 6pm

 

3) A gathering area for Filmmakers

we will conduct Interviews to all the filmmakers which there film were accepted to our film festival to be posted in our website.

 

TIMES SQUARE

THE THIRD ANNUAL ” NYCIFF TIMES SQUARE FILMS”

Free Screenings to The Public, To Be Held August 11 to 14, 2012

This event it’s a Great Opportunity for filmmakers to showcase their films for the second time to a big Audience daily from 12:00pm to 10:00pm.

 

NYCIFF TIMES SQUARE Audience Award for:

Best Narrative Feature, Best Animated, Best Narrative Short.

 

TIMES SQUARE SCREENINGS:
This rules only applies
to NYCIFF TIMES SQUARE FILMS is a Family-Friendly event, because we can’t control the audience, only films with No Violence, No Sex, No bad words will be consider.

 

 

Guest Country:

The country, who produces the winner for the category of “Best Feature Film”, will be the guest country the following year.

Enjoying exclusive screenings from that country for a full day. Including an Opening Reception and after party.

For 2012 guest country will be the TURKEY.

As a result of the movie “A HANDFUL OF SEA” from Turkey Won Best Feature Film 2011”

Student short films must be produced through an accredited educational institution.

Shorts will play either in a shorts program or before a feature film.

AWARDS

Unless otherwise agreed to by Festival programmers in writing, awards will be given to the winning film director (as identified in the Film Information Form).

Award eligibility is subject to any restrictions or conditions imposed by applicable laws and regulations (international, federal, state or otherwise), and the award recipient is responsible for all applicable taxes, customs, tariffs, insurance and similar charges or costs (if any).

 

All new feature-length works are eligible for the “Audience Award” regardless of section.

 

All feature-length shot in New York City are eligible for the “Best New York Narrative” and “Best New York Documentary” awards. (Must be at least a NY premiere.)
